Come and enjoy our homemade food

From the very beginning, our commitment is locality.  Wherever possible, we source all of the food from local suppliers, such as Tyson’s Butchers in Broughton, villager David Cooper supplies our eggs and our local milkman David Wilson delivers milk to our door. We get all our bread and our popular vanilla slices from Grange bakery at Ulverston Market Hall.

The Café was opened in 2018 on the inspiration of a much loved and remembered local Kirkby resident, Mabel Burns, who embodied the quiet local strength for hospitality.

I learnt so much from my neighbour Mabel who passed on to me her special baking skills and, in particular, the secret source of the angel’s wings that makes the local scones so light and delicious!
